Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
• Good working knowledge of CAD.
• Track record of improving manufacturing processes and implementing change.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills with shop-floor collaboration.
• Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or Degree) preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma or similar improvement experience would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and delivering improvements across production processes and workflow.
• Supporting the introduction of new products and manufacturing methods.
• Developing practical solutions around tooling, fixtures and equipment.
• Using production performance information to identify and tackle recurring issues.
• Helping improve productivity, quality, safety and process reliability.
• Taking ownership of engineering changes and ensuring improvements are embedded.
• Supporting equipment upgrades, installations and improvement projects.
• Working cross-functionally with production, engineering and supply chain teams.
• Introducing more effective ways of using manufacturing data and technology.
• Delivering projects ranging from quick shop-floor improvements through to larger investment initiatives.

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Sheffield who are looking to appoint a Production Engineer to drive improvements across their manufacturing operation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys being close to the shop floor and making tangible improvements to the way products are manufactured.

You’ll play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, working alongside production and engineering teams to make processes more efficient, reliable and capable of supporting future growth.

What you’ll bring as the Production Engineer:

We’re looking for someone with a solid background in manufacturing engineering, ideally with experience in a production environment where you've been able to make a visible impact.

You’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
• Good working knowledge of CAD
• A track record of improving manufacturing processes and implementing change
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and the confidence to work directly with production teams
• An engineering qualification such as HNC/HND or Degree would be advantageous
• Lean, Six Sigma or similar improvement experience would be a bonus
