Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Engineer for their site in Rochester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, optimisation and continuous improvement of machining and manufacturing processes to ensure operational product quality and cost efficiency. This position requires a technically proficient engineer with a strong background in CNC and conventional machining and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • develop and implement robust manufacturing processes for machining, welding and fittings.
  • analyse process performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement correct actions.
  • lead continuous improvement projects focusing on productiviting, quality and cost reduction
  • support the introduction of new products and processes as required
  • collaborate with design, quality and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturing feasibility and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing or production Engineering or equivalent
  • proven experience in a precision machining or inductrial manufacturing environment
  • In depth knowledge of CNC programming principles, tooling, materials and machining processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma and 5S Methodologies
  • Competency in CAD/CAM systems and ERP/MRP software
  • Stong analytical problem solving and organisational skills
