The Job you'll do
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of panel builders, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring work is completed on time and to required standards, in line with the production plan.
- Review technical drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications to guide accurate build processes.
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections to maintain compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Coordinate workflow, allocate tasks, and manage resources to maximise productivity, ensure the manufacturing processes runs reliably and efficiently to agreed KPIs.
- Liaise with design, procurement, and project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth delivery.
- Maintain shop floor organisation, tooling, equipment, and adherence to health and safety practices.
- Support training, performance monitoring, and skills development within the team.
- Assist with panel building tasks where needed during peak demand or complex builds.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality, costs, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews logging actions ensuring these are drawn to a successful closure through the daily Production meeting.
- Conduct regular 1:1's with your team and support their needs where required.
About You
- Proven experience in electronics/electrical panel assembly and team supervision.
- Strong understanding of control panel wiring, components, and industry standards.
- Ability to interpret detailed electrical drawings and documentation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and high‑quality workmanship.
- Strong, passionate, and motivational leadership and communication skills with the ability to build a culture of succession.
- Problem‑Solving abilities - Adept at identifying challenges and developing effective solutions.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671 (desirable)
- HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering (desirable)
