Job summary

Apollo Fire Detectors in Havant, UK, is recruiting a Production Engineer to support day-to-day manufacturing operations, implement process improvements, and drive safety, quality, cost and delivery targets.

You will work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Maintenance to resolve issues, update documentation, and lead continuous improvement activities using Lean methods in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in process engineering within manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to update SOPs and work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to production, resolving process, equipment, quality and performance issues.
  • Manage and close production call outs, ensuring timely resolution of production-related issues.
  • Maintain and update SOPs, Flow Charts, work instructions and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Support the implementation of MCDs, ECOs and process changes on the shop floor.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement activities using Lean and structured problem-solving techniques to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Maintenance teams to support operational performance and compliance.

You will play a key role in sustaining day-to-day manufacturing operations by providing technical support, resolving production issues, implementing process improvements, and ensuring manufacturing processes remain safe, efficient and compliant. Through effective collaboration and problem-solving, you will help improve productivity, reduce waste, enhance product quality and support the successful delivery of customer demand.

As a Production Engineer, your mission is to support the ongoing performance and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. You will use your technical expertise to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies, resolve operational challenges, and implement practical engineering solutions that improve safety, quality, cost and delivery. By championing a culture of continuous improvement, you will help create a stable, efficient and high-performing production environment while supporting the wider Process Engineering team in achieving the company's strategic objectives.
