Job summary

Taylor Wimpey in the UK seeks a senior figure to lead and inspire the Production Team, ensuring high production quality and safety standards while driving continuous improvement. You will act as Principal Contractor for Building Safety Act duties and guide cross-functional teams through pre-planning to handover.

You will embed a customer-centric culture, manage supplier relationships, and safeguard project buildability with rigorous planning and programme development.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop a rigorous Health & Safety plan for the development process.
• Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Procedures Manual.
• Act as Safety Co-ordinator and oversee statutory requirements.
• Interview consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers for suitability.
• Coordinate with safety resources to action monthly inspection reports.
• Carry out periodic safety inspections with site managers.
• Ensure staff training aligns with the company training matrix.
• Embed a customer-focused culture and drive improvements from feedback.
• Manage customer complaints and improve the customer experience.
• Lead the Business Unit Senior Management team on best practice.
• Review technical feasibility and construct programme with the team.
• Attend pre-planning and pre-start meetings addressing issues.

Job Summary

Lead and inspire the Production Team to achieve high standards of production quality, to budget, ensuring a high standard of health and safety is maintained at all times. Drive a continuous improvement, customer centric agenda, challenging the status quo and proactively identifying operational enhancements. Build sustainable performance in the Production Team by raising the bar in people capability and ensuring that the quality of talent within the Team is able to deliver its current and future requirements. They also hold the duties of “Principal Contractor” for the purpose of the Building Safety Act.

Primary Responsibilities

Health and Safety

• Ensure a rigorous Health & Safety plan is fully developed prior to any site start, for the entire development process from pre-start through to site completion, across the Region.
• Ensure that the Taylor Wimpey Health and Safety Procedures Manual is complied with at all times and that any policy revisions are communicated to site management, so their work practices are amended accordingly.
• Carry out the role of Safety Co-Ordinator within the region ensuring that all statutory requirements are met.
• Interview consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure they are competent prior to commencing work for Taylor Wimpey.
• Liaise with Taylor Wimpey safety consultants and TW Director of Health, Safety and Environment, to ensure that monthly safety inspection reports are actioned.
• Undertake periodic safety inspections with site managers during site visits.
• Ensure site staff receive the requisite Health and Safety training in accordance with the Company training matrix.

Customer Service

• Embed and drive a customer focused culture by driving sustainable improvements and sharing best practices as a consequence of customer feedback and insight.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture which improves the customer experience and responds to consumer trends locally.
• Manage customer complaints and disputes to ensure they are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Deliver outstanding customer service in a customer centric way throughout all production functions
• Review, discuss and take action to improve customer satisfaction.
• Operate as part of the Business Unit Senior Management team, advising on best practice from a customer perspective throughout the build process from pre-start to successful home ownership
• Carry out technical feasibility review of the site prior to Land Purchase Exercise (LPE).
• Appraise the project buildability in conjunction with the Development Department and produce a construction programme.
• Attend pre planning, pre tender and pre start meetings to ensure all necessary construction issues are addressed prior to commencement on site.
• Ensuring the workload, quality and productivity of direct trades is continually monitored and managed efficiently

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

• Thorough understanding of building regulations, construction processes and safety protocols.
• Substantial experience in managing construction projects, particularly those involving HRBs (if relevant).
• High levels of personal integrity, ethical conduct and ability to lead and communicate effectively.
