We are currently looking for a talented full‑time Production Assembly Engineer to join our fast growing team. This role will report directly into the Production Director and will work alongside the Quality, Software and Hardware teams to ensure complex electro‑mechanical devices are produced in a timely manner at their highest quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly of all our Augmented Reality devices from the HMD to the supporting accessories. We are looking for someone who can carefully follow assembly procedures and ensure assembly is carried out with the highest care and attention to quality. This role will involve good communication and organisation skills, directly liaising with our tech leads, bringing each aspect of our product through assembly, to a completed sales‑ready state. Attention to detail is critical. We pride our business on accuracy and precision, which is essential to this role to ensure the highest level of quality is achieved and reflected in our premium product offering.
Extensive experience in hands‑on product assembly, preferably on products that have a high level of complexity, including electronics, and software installation.
Good time management skills & working to a production plan. Good organisational skills will be required to ensure care is taken in looking after tools and equipment required to carry out assembly tasks.
Ability to utilise an Inventory Management System to create picking lists, manage stock levels and update from stock counts when required.
Experience debugging electronics and running repairs and rework on mechanical product assemblies. Ability to work with basic command prompts for software testing during the assembly process.
Confidence with software and firmware uploading during the assembly process. Ability to follow clear assembly SOP’s and support with updates and document optimisation where required. Constant search for process improvement.
Working directly with Design and Engineering teams for jigs and fixtures to improve the efficiency of assembly.
Experience working alongside advanced assembly/calibration equipment (robotics etc.) preferable but not essential.
