Job summary

Recruitment PRO is seeking a Production Administrator in Scunthorpe to support the production department in a busy manufacturing environment. The role covers production planning, order processing, load coordination and broad admin support across Production, Sales, Logistics and Warehouse.

The successful candidate will help ensure production schedules run smoothly, data accuracy, and effective inter-department communication.

Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to liaise effectively with multiple departments and manage changing priorities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • The ability to learn new production planning and programming systems.
  • Previous experience within production administration, manufacturing, planning or a similar administrative role would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and update production plans and schedules in line with customer demand, available capacity and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor production progress, identify potential delays and communicate priorities or changes to relevant teams.
  • Liaise with Production, Sales, Transport and Warehouse colleagues to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
  • Process and manage intergroup sales orders, ensuring pricing, quantities, delivery dates and documentation are accurate.
  • Release production orders within the relevant systems, ensuring they align with agreed schedules and material availability.
  • Check order information before release and resolve any discrepancies with the relevant departments.
  • Coordinate incoming loads, recording expected deliveries and communicating details to Warehouse and Production teams.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to incoming materials, production orders, stock movements and delivery documentation.
  • Carry out production programming, entering and maintaining job, machine and process instructions within company systems.
  • Ensure production programmes and data reflect current specifications, priorities and completion dates.
  • Produce and distribute production paperwork, reports, schedules, labels and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake general administrative duties, including data entry, filing, document control, email correspondence and responding to internal queries.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Production Administrator to support the efficient running of the production department.

This is a varied administrative role within a busy manufacturing environment, involving production planning, order processing, incoming load coordination and providing essential administrative support across Production, Sales, Logistics and Warehouse operations.
