Job summary

Talentedge is seeking an experienced Production Accountant to lead accounting for multiple TV productions in London. You will manage production finance, budgeting, and reporting, collaborating with Production Execs and Line Producers to control costs and cashflow.

Responsibilities include month-end reconciliations, variance commentary, VAT/IR35 compliance, and multi-currency cashflow planning. Competitive salary with bonus and benefits is offered.

Responsibilities

• Production finance management and budget cost reporting for multiple productions.
• Build and maintain relationships with Production Execs and Line Producers.
• Perform month-end reconciliations covering revenue, gross profit and balance sheet items.
• Deliver month end reporting packs for external use as required.
• Oversee credit control to support cashflow and chase outstanding debt when needed.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and financial forecasting for productions.
• Build cashflows for each production, including multi-currency where required.
• Ensure HMRC VAT, IR35 and payroll compliance.
• Review monthly production cost reports and explain variances.
• Work with production managers to maintain cost control.
• Monitor spend on allocated productions and manage invoices and expenses.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as required.

This fast growing TV Production scaleup requires an experienced and hands-on Production Accountant with a good working knowledge of PMI to join their finance team as their accounting lead on several key productions.

Key Accountabilities:

• Be responsible for production finance management and budget cost reporting for multiple productions
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with Production Execs and Line Producers
• Complete month-end reconciliations for the portfolio and ensure that there is a clear understanding over the month end position across revenue, gross profit and balance sheet items
• Deliver month end reporting packs for external use where required
• Hold responsibility for credit control on allocated productions to help control cashflow. Ensure sales invoices are sent on time and accurately, then where appropriate chase outstanding debt
• Contribute to annual production budgeting and financial forecasting processes
• Build and maintain cashflows for each production, in multi-currency where required
• Ensure compliance in areas such as HMRC reporting, VAT, IR35 and payroll legislation
• Review and reconciliation of monthly production cost reports, including preparation of variance reports and assistproduction managers with commentary on variances
• Work with production managers to ensure accurate financial control of all production costs
• Monitor all spend on your allocated productions, including supplier/freelancer invoice submission, petty cash spend, expense claims (ensuring correct invoicing and paperwork are submitted at all times)
• Assist in the delivery of any ad-hoc projects as and when needed
