Job description

It's an exciting time to join the Digital team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers; and to streamline and automate our business processes. We're looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our Engineering team, to help delivery of our digital roadmap, develop our people and capabilities, and support our engineering strategy to drive improvements across all teams. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a product‑led operating model. In this model, all our teams align with value streams, which means that we have the necessary resources to take an idea from conception to completion with minimal handoffs. Our current focus is on developing our Single Digital Platform, which is based on Salesforce and involves a significant .NET estate, use of Azure services, and React frontend web applications. As a Test Engineer, you will learn about recent technology trends and be able to influence the organisation to make the right choices. Our engineers are highly collaborative, they respect opinions and strive for continual improvement. You will contribute to our highly motivating atmosphere, in which people feel energized and enthusiastic about achieving common goals. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. Our local office locations include Leeds, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells, and Bournemouth. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Work as part of an Agile delivery team, using your skills and experience to identify bugs early in the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Working closely with development teams to streamline handover times and focus on defining completion criteria
  • Manage our automated test pipelines, constantly looking for ways to increase test reliability and optimise coverage
  • Join our AXA Health Test Guild and be part of a community of fellow test professionals
Practical experience testing web frontends and APIs
  • Experience using Playwright, BrowserStack, Percy, K6 or Axe DevTools
  • Creative thinking and an exploratory approach to manual testing
  • Hands‑on experience writing and maintaining automated code‑driven tests against the .NET and React tech stacks
  • >Experience working in an Agile development team
  • Ability to conduct non‑functional testing, with a focus on Compatibility, Accessibility, and Performance testing
  • Experience using Github CoPilot is advantageous
  • Previous work with Azure pipelines is desirable
