Job summary

Google is hiring for a Product Technology Manager within Shopping Partner Engineering to architect and drive integration for global retailers and platforms. You will enable partners to connect to Google’s commerce surfaces via UCP, Merchant API, and Google Business Profile API, leading 0-to-1 pilots and scalable onboarding.

  • 3 years in computer engineering, software development, or building technical tools.
  • 3 years in a consulting, partner engineering, or client-facing technical role.
  • 3 years in operations management (process improvement, reviews, workflow optimization).
  • Experience with web technologies (HTTP/REST, JSON) and programming in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Java.
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms, APIs, webhooks, or merchant integration ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as technical lead for early-stage retailer pilots in EMEA, providing architectural guidance and integration support.
  • Develop code samples, technical tools, and integration recipes for partner testing and validation.
  • Provide high-touch technical SME support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for strategic partners within SLAs.
  • Collaborate with Core Engineering and Product teams to test capabilities and harden onboarding rails across 35k+ ecosystem integrations.
  • Synthesize feedback to advocate for product/feature improvements backed by data.

About the job

As a part of the Shopping Partner Engineering, you will serve as the technical bridge between Google and the global commerce ecosystem. You will enable retailers, aggregators, and platforms to integrate with Google's commerce products and surfaces via the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), Merchant API, and Google Business Profile API.

As a part of this team, you will drive both 0-to-1 incubation and 1-to-N scaling. You will lead early-stage technical pilots, build reference implementations and developer tools, and work closely with Google Engineering and Product teams to harden automated onboarding rails across 35k+ ecosystem integrations. You will act as an advocate of the customer and partner experience, publishing for product and tools improvements backed by data-driven insights. As a Product Technology Manager (Customer and Partner Solutions Engineer role profile), you will partner with Product Managers, Core Engineering, Product Operations Managers, and global partner teams to oversee the technical execution and 0-to-1 pilot incubation of Google's Commerce products.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Ireland: €90000 - €92000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Act as the technical lead for early-stage retailer pilots in EMEA, providing technical guidance, architectural reviews, and integration support.

  • Provide high-touch technical subject matter expertise, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for strategic retail partners within defined service level agreements.
  • Collaborate closely with Core Engineering and Product Management teams across California, London, and Zurich to test new protocol capabilities and harden specifications.
  • Synthesize pilot edge cases, partner telemetry, and technical feedback to advocate for product and feature improvements backed by data.
