Job summary

A leading engineering company seeks a Product Support Engineer to perform maintenance activities and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates will have an engineering background, proactive initiative, and strong organizational skills. This role offers opportunities for mobile work and requires participation in 24/7 shifts. The position is based in Plymouth, UK.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance activities in accordance with schedules and contracts.
• Participate in continuous improvement and suggest enhancements.
• Conduct planned maintenance tasks as per instructions.
• Attend meetings with customers for work sign-offs.
• Undertake fault finding and repairs as needed.
• Complete documentation for work performed.
• Contribute to HSQE management processes.

• Attend training courses as necessary.
• Participate in 24/7 shift work and callouts if needed.
• Work as a mobile engineer with provided van.
• Report parts used during service work accurately.

Product Support Engineer - Rail

Full Time, Mon - Fri

Stoke Gifford & Laira (Depot Based)

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, scheduled maintenance and/or corrective maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule, manuals and contract.
• Actively participate in ongoing continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures, including general suggestions for improvement.
• Conduct planned maintenance tasks in accordance with operating instructions.
• Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary to obtain sign off for work carried out on customer equipment.
• Undertake fault finding and repair when required using appropriate technical information (e.g. technical drawings and fault finding guides).
• Complete relevant documentation for all work carried out to accurately record activities for the company and the customer.
• Proactively contribute to the Company’s HSQE management processes.
• Maintain cleanliness of the SGB onsite facilities.
• Attend local and factory training courses when necessary to ensure skills remain current.
• Participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required.
• Work as a mobile engineer if required; a van will be provided.
• Any other related activities reasonably required e.g. to cover work in another depot.
• Accurately report parts used during service work according to internal processes to ensure stock is effectively controlled and accounted for.
• Make effective use of IT systems such as Go!Care, C4S, eWeb, Go!Manage, Go, Diasys, Outlook etc.
