Job summary

A financial services firm is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join their Credit Research Technology team in London. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of business and system requirements and serve as a liaison between credit analysts and tech teams. Key qualifications include 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis within Fixed Income asset management, proficiency in SQL and Python, and strong analytical skills. This hybrid role requires being onsite 3 days a week in Central London.

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically savvy Senior Business Analyst to join our Credit Research Technology team. You will be embedded within a dynamic group focused on building innovative research and investment tools used by credit analysts and portfolio managers. Working closely with product owners, developers, and investment professionals, you will play a pivotal role in shaping solutions that drive smarter investment decisions across our fixed income portfolios.

What You Can Expect
  • Lead the definition and delivery of business and system requirements to support credit research, model‑driven analysis, and portfolio management tools.
  • Serve as a key liaison between credit analysts, portfolio managers, and technology teams to ensure business needs are translated into scalable, high‑performance technical solutions.
  • Drive end‑to‑end documentation and stakeholder alignment across delivery cycles.
  • Help shape the data strategy for credit research by integrating credit model data, issuer fundamentals, ESG inputs, and alternative datasets into the research ecosystem.
  • Influence the firm's digital transformation initiatives through delivery excellence and thought leadership.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for credit research and portfolio management teams in their use of internal tools and platforms.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis at a buy‑side Fixed Income asset management firm.
  • Deep understanding of credit research workflows, with proven experience working alongside credit analysts and portfolio managers.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and investment processes.
  • Proficiency in:
    • SQL – for data validation and exploration.
    • AWS – particularly data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda).
    • Python – for prototyping analytical tools and performing data analysis.
  • Strong command of business analysis practices, including:
    • Use case and workflow documentation.
    • Data mapping and transformation.
    • Acceptance criteria and test planning.
  • Excellent communication skills – capable of clearly translating technical issues into business context and vice versa.
What will set you apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • CFA Certification or progress toward completion.
  • Familiarity with third‑party credit platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, MSCI).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Exposure to machine learning or AI frameworks in financial modeling is a plus.
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
