Role Summary

We are now looking for a Product Owner to join our London office on a contract basis for approximately seven months, covering a period of parental leave. We are looking for a start in November 2026 to allow for a handover.

You will take on the day‑to‑day product management of our Offshore stream, a set of products used by our offshore broking teams and, in a number of cases, by their clients directly.

Our purpose is to drive digital excellence across the business. That starts with the tools our brokers use every day, and extends outwards to the clients they work with, where better technology strengthens the relationship and moves us forward together. You will be working closely with our offshore brokers, and with the owners, charterers and operators they deal with, making sure what we build genuinely helps them do business.

This is a hands‑on role covering both product management and business analysis. Alongside owning the product relationships and the delivery roadmap, you will be shaping requirements, writing stories and running refinement with the engineering team. As a cover position the emphasis is on continuity: keeping delivery moving, holding the stakeholder relationships, and handing the stream back in good order.

What you’ll be doing
Product and delivery
  • Own the day‑to‑day product management of the Offshore product set, working closely with key stakeholders across the Offshore divisions and with the engineering team to determine and maintain the delivery roadmap.
  • Gather and shape requirements for larger pieces of work with stakeholders, managing them through all stages of refinement so there is no delay to the development team in receiving sufficient clarity to deliver.
  • Produce the artefacts needed to support delivery, including user stories, acceptance criteria, change requests and mock‑ups of screen designs.
  • Contribute to quarterly prioritisation discussions with key stakeholders, and carry out focused investigations into approach where a decision is needed within the period.
  • Continuously monitor and manage the products, tracking and reviewing metrics to ensure delivery is being met.
  • Competently handle multiple products and features at any point in time, managing and prioritising your own workload and providing regular status updates.
Stakeholders and users
  • Act as the main point of contact for offshore brokers and their clients globally, handling ad hoc queries, relationship management and feature requests.
  • Scope and cost ad hoc requests from external clients, for example additional functionality on one of our client‑facing platforms, and see them through to delivery.
  • Provide hands‑on support to brokers and their counterparties, including joining calls with owners and charterers to take them through the platform and resolve issues.
  • Support adoption of the offshore products across the broking community, building broker confidence in the tools and understanding how they fit into working practices.
Data and integration
  • Work with Clarksons Research (CRSL) and our data team on the data that feeds the offshore products, including vessel data and identification.
  • Become the subject matter expert within the product domain and act when required.
Support and enablement
  • Plan and participate in system testing activity and user training where required.
  • Provide guidance for the completion of support documentation, including user help documentation, guides and manuals, and updates to the internal applications.
What we’re looking for

We invite applications from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Drive and self‑motivation, with the desire and commitment to succeed, deliver excellence and make positive change;
  • Relationship building, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport;
  • Collaboration, able to work well with others across diverse backgrounds to share information, develop skills, and deliver results;
  • Resilience with the ability to persist and adapt;
  • Smart problem‑solving and analytical abilities, with a curious and inquisitive mind, and an openness to new ideas;
  • Professional integrity and a respect for company values.
Other requirements
  • A background in shipping or shipbroking is essential for this role, with offshore experience a distinct advantage. The role involves direct conversations with brokers and their clients from the outset, with limited time to build domain knowledge.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner, combined with strong Business Analyst skills covering the full project lifecycle.
  • Comfortable working hands‑on, writing stories and running refinement, as well as holding the wider product relationships.
  • Confident working directly with senior commercial stakeholders and external clients, including handling escalations and live user issues.
  • Good understanding of agile product development best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good attention to detail in both analysis and written.
  • Strong business sense - we are building a true end‑to‑end solution, collaborating with other teams, and the ability to identify and leverage features across the platform is key, as well as articulating the business value of such changes.
  • Able to pick things up quickly and operate with a short handover, given the nature of the cover.
What can you expect from us?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established product set at a leading organisation that is shaping the maritime industry, working directly with the brokers who use it. This is a fast‑paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.
