You’ll set strategy, define standards, and own contracts that other teams rely on, while partnering with commercial and marketing on pricing and go-to-market.

The role requires deep technical credibility with engineers and strong enterprise product instincts, including multi-tenant security, governance, and compliance, in a fintech setting.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in product management, with a strong track record on platform, infrastructure, or API products.
  • Strong technical foundation: lead architecture and API discussions, weigh trade-offs, review designs with engineers.
  • Think in systems: understand how shared services connect across products and teams, scale design.
  • Owned foundational services or platform primitives such as identity, accounts, permissions, or an API gateway, including contracts and versioning.
  • Familiar with multi-tenant architecture and enterprise access components (RBAC/ABAC, SSO, SCIM, OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect).
  • Data products experience: analytics or reporting APIs, or related data foundation.
  • Able to align stakeholders and drive cross-team outcomes; able to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commercial fluency: understand enterprise buyers and collaborate on packaging and go-to-market.
  • Sound judgment on prioritisation and build-versus-buy; confident to say no.
  • Experience in regulated fintech/payments/banking, handling sensitive data and obligations.
  • Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and data models for core services (applications, identity, access) and the API gateway.
  • Collaborate with API Governance to expose services via clean, versioned APIs without breaking dependents.
  • Own and monetise data products (analytics, reporting APIs) from discovery through launch and iteration.
  • Own enterprise capabilities for upmarket customers: SSO, RBAC/ABAC, audit, usage and entitlements, multi-organisation support.
  • Extend identity and access models to AI agents and machine identities with scoped, time-bound credentials.
  • Provide authorization foundations for agent access, including OAuth flows for MCP and federated access within customer consent.
  • Integrate platform with billing, CRM, compliance tools; keep accounts/usage/entitlements consistent (Lead to Cash).
  • Balance competing demands from product teams and customers; prioritise foundational investments.
  • Partner with engineering to scope and ship; collaborate with security, privacy, legal to meet regulatory obligations.
  • Partner with commercial/marketing on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market; translate platform capabilities for stakeholders.
  • Define and track platform metrics: adoption, reliability, latency, data quality, and customer-satisfaction indicators.

Job description

Who are Yapily

Why we exist, and where we’re headed:

Our Mission: Redefining how the world interacts with value.

Our Vision: A world without financial friction

Our Purpose: To empower everyone to access and move value

At Yapily, we’re building a powerful, scalable, and secure open banking infrastructure that redefines how the world interacts with value.

Our open banking platform powers leading companies, such as Adyen, Intuit QuickBooks, and Google. By delivering payment initiation, bank data access, and pre-built products, we enable businesses to innovate fast and push the boundaries of financial technology.

As an early pioneer of open banking, we’re actively shaping the future of this industry with unrivalled expertise and a relentless focus on innovation.

What we’re looking for

Yapily's platform is what thousands of companies build on to connect to banks across Europe. This role owns its core: the account, identity, and access layer that every Yapily product is built on and that customers, and increasingly their AI agents, integrate through. You'll set its strategy and standards, and own the contracts other teams depend on, so they can build quickly without reinventing the basics.

You'll also own the data products built on that foundation, like analytics and reporting, and the enterprise capabilities that take Yapily upmarket. You'll work alongside engineering, and partner with commercial and marketing on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market. It's a technical product role for a systems thinker who is credible with engineers and comfortable on the commercial side.

Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and data models for the core services like applications, identity, and access services, and the API gateway that exposes them
  • Working with the API Governance lead, expose these services through clean, well-versioned APIs, and evolve them without breaking the teams and customers that depend on them
  • Own and monetise the data products built on the platform, such as analytics and reporting APIs, from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Own the enterprise capabilities that take Yapily upmarket: single sign-on, role-based access, audit, usage and entitlements, and multi-organisation support
  • Extend the identity and access model to AI agents and machine identities, with scoped, time-bound, revocable, and auditable credentials
  • Provide the authorisation foundations for agent access, including OAuth flows for MCP and federated access that stays within the consent a customer or end user has granted
  • Own the platform's integrations with the systems the business runs on, such as billing, CRM, and compliance tooling, keeping accounts, usage, and entitlements consistent across them (Lead to Cash)
  • Balance the competing demands of multiple product teams and customers, and prioritise foundational investment against near-term requests
  • Partner with engineering to scope and ship, make the build-versus-buy calls, and work with security, privacy, and legal so the platform meets its regulatory obligations
  • Partner with commercial and marketing on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market, giving them the product view of what the platform can do and what is coming
  • Define and track the platform metrics that matter: adoption across product teams, reliability and latency, data quality, and the satisfaction of the teams and customers building on the platform

This list is not exhaustive, and there may be other tasks that we ask you to be involved in from time to time. Above all, you are flexible and want to add value wherever you can. You understand that in a start-up, priorities change and we all need to be adaptable. Not only will you be comfortable when asked to input and lead in other areas, but you’ll be comfortable being a self-starter and instigating changes yourself.

For your new role

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • You have 5+ years in product management, with a strong track record on platform, infrastructure, or API products
  • You have a strong technical foundation: you can lead architecture and API discussions, weigh trade-offs, and review designs with engineers
  • You think in systems: you understand how shared services connect across products and teams, and you design them to scale
  • You have owned foundational services or platform primitives such as identity, accounts, permissions, or an API gateway, including the contracts and versioning that keep their consumers stable
  • You are familiar with multi-tenant architecture and the building blocks of enterprise access: RBAC or ABAC, SSO, SCIM, and standards such as OAuth2, SAML, or OpenID Connect
  • You have built products on top of data, such as analytics or reporting APIs, or have a clear grasp of what that takes
  • You have integrated core systems such as billing, CRM, or entitlements, and kept data consistent across them
  • You can align many stakeholders and drive outcomes across teams you don't manage, and explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
  • You have commercial fluency: you understand enterprise buyers and partner well with commercial and marketing on packaging and go-to-market
  • You have sound judgement on prioritisation and build-versus-buy, and the confidence to say no
  • You have worked in a regulated industry such as fintech, payments, or banking, and you are comfortable with sensitive data and its obligations
  • You are eligible to work in the United Kingdom

  • Familiarity with machine or agent identity and modern authorisation patterns, such as OAuth scopes, on-behalf-of delegation, and MCP auth
  • 25 days holiday a year (plus bank holidays)
  • We also offer an additional holiday day after 1 year's service, up to the value of 5 days
  • We’re serious about work/life balance and operate hybrid working, giving you the flexibility to work from home, working from our amazing office space or work abroad for up to 30 days per year ‘Nomad Working’
