Job summary

Product Care Group in Wigan is seeking a Product Manager/Buyer to develop and launch new product ranges and promotions, coordinating with sales and accounts teams. You will leverage supplier networks in China, Turkey and elsewhere to optimise range performance.

The role requires at least 3 years buying electrical appliances, a degree, and strong negotiation skills. Hybrid working is offered with office days in Hindley Green, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education.
• Willingness to travel to China and other areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and launch new product ranges and promotional items.
• Manage ongoing product ranges with suppliers to avoid delays in the supply chain.
• Manage P&L category accounts in line with company objectives.
• Analyze returns data trends to improve products.
• Ensure accurate online and retail listings across platforms.
• Prepare monthly updates on economic issues affecting product costing.
• Undertake other activities to support efficient operation.

Do you have experience as a Product Manager/Buyer in the electronics industry?

We have an opportunity for a driven individual to join our Product team in Wigan as a Product Manager/Buyer where you will develop and launch new product range/s and promotional items as required by our sales and account management teams. You should have at least 3 years’ experience of buying from China, Turkey etc and preferably White Goods, Microwave, Floorcare, Heating/Cooling and BBQ products.

As our Product Manager/Buyer your role will be to;

• Develop and launch new product range/s and promotional items as required by sales and account management teams whilst also proposing new items that are available from the current and new suppliers
• Manage on-going product range items with suppliers to ensure there are no delays in the supply chain at factory level
• Manage P&L category account in accordance with company objectives
• Understand trends within returns data, to help improve products in the field
• Ensure products are listed correctly across multiple sales platforms both on-line and retail platform
• Prepare monthly update on economic issues that can affect our product costing
• Undertake other miscellaneous activities/project work deemed appropriate for the role of Product Manager to support the efficient operation.

Our ideal Product Manager/Buyer will have the following skills / experience;

• Educated to degree level
• At least 3 years’ experience of buying electrical appliances from China, Turkey , etc. Importer/brand background preferable
• A driven individual with the will to succeed and deliver projects on- time and in full, and ensure others do as well
• A keen eye for accuracy is essential
• Must be computer literate and well versed in Power point and Excel
• Good negotiation skills and an ability to critique and improve products
• Must be prepared to travel to China and other areas as required
