About You

Role Overview

The Product Manager is responsible for owning the full product lifecycle – defining customer requirements, shaping product strategy, and working closely with engineering, operations and sales teams to deliver successful products to market.

This role combines technical understanding with commercial awareness and strategic insight, ensuring that Thermoteknix products remain competitive, innovative, and aligned with customer and market needs.

You will act as the voice of the customer within the organisation, translating user and market feedback into actionable product roadmaps and development priorities.

Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, trade shows, field trials, and partner visits in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage product roadmaps for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with company strategy and market demand.

  • Gather and prioritise customer requirements, market trends and competitive insights.

  • Translate technical capabilities into clear product propositions and value messages.

  • Work closely with Engineering and R&D teams in developing new products, enhancements and features.

  • Create detailed product requirements and specifications, balancing performance, cost and time-to-market.

  • Support project delivery by maintaining clear communication between technical and commercial teams.

  • Develop business cases for new products and updates, including ROI, lifecycle analysis and competitive landscape.

  • Define and manage pricing strategies in line with market positioning and company margin targets.

  • Work with the Commercial Director, Sales and Finance to model pricing scenarios, assess profitability, and support commercial decision‑making.

  • Provide pricing input for quotations, bids and tenders, ensuring proposals are both competitive and commercially robust.

  • Plan and execute product launches in collaboration with Sales and Marketing.

  • Monitor product performance post‑launch, recommending enhancements or end‑of‑life transitions.

  • Support customer engagement, demonstrations, and trade shows as a subject matter expert.

  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry technologies, standards and competitor developments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in product management or a related role within high‑technology, engineering, imaging or electronics sectors.

  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and engineering processes.

  • Technical competence – able to discuss detailed specifications, architectures and features with engineers and customers alike.

  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Operations, Sales and Marketing).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into commercial value.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured, data‑driven approach.

  • Familiarity with product management tools and processes (roadmapping, requirements capture, Agile or Stage‑Gate methodologies).

  • Relevant qualification in engineering, physics, or a related technical field preferred; business qualification advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • Customer‑focused and commercially aware, driven by delivering value and innovation.

  • Clear communicator and natural collaborator, comfortable working between technical and non‑technical teams.

  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset with attention to detail.

  • Enthusiastic about technology and continuous improvement.

  • Self‑starter who takes ownership and drives results with minimal supervision.
