Job summary

Zebra People | B Corp™ in Cambridge is seeking a hands-on Product Manager to shape product strategy and delivery within a cross-functional team. You will work closely with Software Engineering, ML, UX and commercial teams, translating customer needs into actionable requirements and owning the backlog and roadmap.

You will write requirements and tickets, collaborate with engineers and ML specialists, and become a trusted go-to Product person for technical teams.

Product Manager – within AI / Engineering Technology

Hybrid - At least 1 day a week in Cambridge (travel can be expensed)

We're working with an innovative Cambridge-based technology company developing advanced AI and machine learning software that helps engineering teams make better design and performance decisions.

Due to continued growth, they're looking for a hands-on Product Manager to join their Product team and play a key role in shaping both product strategy and day-to-day delivery.

THE ROLE

This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Software Engineering, Machine Learning, UX and commercial teams, as well as customers.

You'll translate customer needs and product strategy into clear, actionable requirements for technical teams, while owning the backlog, roadmap and prioritisation process.

You'll be expected to get into the detail - writing requirements and tickets, working in Jira, supporting discovery and working closely with engineers and ML specialists to understand technical challenges and make informed product decisions.

An important part of the role is becoming a trusted, go-to Product person within the business, particularly for the technical teams. You'll need to be someone colleagues can approach for clarity around priorities, requirements and product direction.

THE CANDIDATE

We're looking for a Product Manager/Product Owner with experience in a technical B2B software environment and a strong track record of working closely with engineering teams.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong hands-on Product Management experience across discovery, requirements, prioritisation and delivery
• Experience managing product roadmaps and backlogs using tools such as Jira
• The technical fluency to engage confidently with Software Engineers and ML/Data teams
• Excellent customer and user focus, with the ability to turn customer problems into product requirements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in a scale-up, start-up or fast-moving environment

Experience with machine learning, data science, optimisation or engineering software would be advantageous, although industry background is not essential. Experience working within a small-medium sized company is likely to be just as important.

We're particularly interested in people who have demonstrated the ability to learn new technical domains quickly and who genuinely enjoy being close to the product and delivery detail.
