The Opportunity

With the continuing and rapid development of tax technology solutions and in particular Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, it is necessary to enhance our operational models to achieve success in the future. In preparation for the future, EY Tax and Law have created a new “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) to support SaaS solutions throughout their lifecycle.

The objectives of the SaaS CoE are twofold:

  • Operational management of Tax and Law SaaS solutions
  • Sales enablement and support to drive the market success of these solutions

The SaaS CoE currently supports Tax and Law solutions Global VAT Reporting Tool (GVRT), Global Tax E-invoicing Solution (GTES), Mandatory Disclosure Regime (MDR) Web, EY GloBE Engine (Pillar II/BEPS) and Data Permissions Navigator (DPN), and this number of solutions is expected to grow rapidly.

Your Key Responsibilities

EY is looking for a product lead to help develop and manage its ground-breaking product GTES, which looks to reimagine how our clients can manage their global e-invoicing and e-reporting obligations in this dynamic and rapidly growing area. As part of our new Global SaaS business, you will work with our Product Owner to develop GTES from proof-of-concept to production.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective execution of the product strategy, prioritize the product backlog, and ensure successful delivery of the product.

  • Assist the GTES Product Owner in defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the product
  • Research current and emerging technologies, market trends and competitor capabilities
  • Provide market insights to and representing GTES before various stakeholder groups
  • Assist in developing performance measures to assess the success of products and features and resolve vital enhancements
  • Support global product governance by contributing to steering decks and driving actions against a plan
  • Support product plan execution, collaborating with the GTES Product Owner, engineering, product and other teams
  • Handle the Technical Product and Functional Product Leads for GTES, as well as junior product team members
  • Oversee high-level requirements gathering by the Functional Product Lead, ensuring the accurate maintenance of a product backlog, prioritizing features based on business alignment and customer feedback
  • Oversee high-level requirements gathering by the Technical Product Lead to define and deliver the technical requirements, for product deployment and support
  • Support the engineering team by defining the product roadmap, managing and prioritizing development activity, and working with the Technical Product and Functional Product Leads to QA development work
  • Maximize value delivered by the engineering team by ensuring effective and timely delivery
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Business Analysts to plan sprints, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Support local countries with high-level stakeholder management on requirements gathering and testing
  • Works closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure business case and customer satisfaction goals are met
  • Support the sales teams with advice of new product features and technical changes, and participating in and running product roadmap webinars/demos
Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Confidence and maturity to work effectively with senior leaders across the Business Unit and beyond
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as executive presence
  • Skilled at explaining technical information in a manner which is understood by non-technical clients
  • Knowledge of the software development cycle and project management methodologies
  • Proven relationship management abilities to work effectively with clients, project teams and vendor across multiple geographies
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change
  • Strong decision-making ability, balancing what is right with what is realistic
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people from various parts of the Business and IT
  • Possess a high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, and an ability to work well under pressure
To Qualify for the Role You Must Have
  • 7+ years experience in a commercial role within a large global organization ideally within the tax or technology market
  • Certifications in Product Management, Portfolio Management and Project Management would be beneficial to performing this role
  • Strong understanding of the electronic invoicing landscape and related technologies
  • A familiarity with Indirect Taxes would be advantageous, but not essential
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile development methodology
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
  • Work experience in a professional services industry
  • Familiarity of EY internal processes would be an advantage
  • Prior experience on other products would be helpful
  • Certifications in Microsoft technology stack would be advantageous to this role
