Job description
Overview

As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller you'll make routine checks on products and packaging to make sure that they're correct from a food safety and legality perspective. You'll use relevant systems to record information and demonstrate traceability and due diligence on behalf of the site and company, and will escalat**e** any non‑conformances to prevent product withdrawals or recalls. Your quality checks may involve temperature probing, swabbing, weight and size checks, and you'll be working towards minimising and preventing any loss of sales or profit whilst ensuring customer requirements are continually met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make routine checks on products and packaging to ensure food safety and legality
  • Record information using relevant systems and demonstrate traceability and due diligence
  • Escalate any non‑conformances to prevent product withdrawals or recalls
  • Conduct temperature probing, swabbing, weight and size checks
  • Work to minimise and prevent any loss of sales or profit while ensuring customer requirements are met
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing and food handling experience preferred but not essential; full training will be given
  • Loves working as part of a team
  • Enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Is happy in an active role and has a good level of fitness
  • Is able to work in varying temperatures around 8 °C and below (protective clothing is provided)
  • Takes pride in completing tasks to the best of ability
  • Desirable: Quality Control experience and understanding of product allergens
  • Desirable: Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP Level 2
