Owen Thomas | B Corp™ in London is seeking a Product Engineer (Backend, Full Stack) to shape real-time systems and energy trading platforms. This backend-first role focuses on Python with exposure to the full stack, delivering data-heavy APIs and trusted services in a highly ownership-driven environment.
You will join a small, highly capable team in a hybrid London setup (3 days on-site) with a salary of £80-120k plus equity and bonus.
Product Engineer (Backend, Full Stack) | Python, TypeScript, AWS | Climate Tech x Energy Trading | Real-Time Systems, High Ownership, 0→1 Product Builds | London (Hybrid, 3 Days) | £80-120k + Equity
The energy industry is undergoing one of its biggest transformations in decades.
We're partnering with a well-funded, early-stage climate technology company building software that sits at the heart of the transition towards a cleaner, more intelligent electricity grid.
Rather than improving existing systems, they're building an entirely new platform from the ground up - combining real-time data, distributed hardware, AI, and energy trading to solve complex problems that have a genuine impact on the future of energy.
Still a small engineering team, they're at the stage where every engineer has a meaningful influence on the product, technical direction, and success of the business.
You’ll join a highly technical, product-focused engineering team building software that powers real-time operational and commercial decision-making.
This is a backend-first role (Python ≈70%) with exposure across the full stack, working on data-intensive systems where correctness, scalability and performance genuinely matter.
You’ll work across multiple product areas - from backend services and APIs through to customer-facing products, internal tooling and complex operational workflows.
Expect plenty of ownership, ambiguity, and the opportunity to solve difficult engineering problems from first principles.
This is a fast-moving Product Engineering environment where engineers are trusted to own problems rather than simply deliver tickets.
This role will suit engineers who enjoy solving difficult business problems just as much as writing great code.
A collaborative interview process focused on real-world engineering rather than algorithm memorisation.
If you're a product-minded software engineer who enjoys solving complex backend problems, thrives in startup environments, and wants to build systems where every decision has real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you.
