Overview

We're seeking a hands-on Product Development & Applications Technician to support the engineering team in the development, testing, and real-world application of new safety products. This role is ideal for someone with a strong automotive background and practical experience in vehicle electrical systems, fault finding, and installation. You'll play a key role in shaping product suitability for installers and end-users, helping reduce installation time and cost while improving integration and functionality. The role combines office-based work with site visits across the UK and occasional liaison with international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct product and system testing, evaluation, verification, and validation
• Provide vehicle-related technical expertise to support product development
• Lead or support updates to product documentation and technical materials
• Guide product design with practical insights from vehicle installation experience

Key Tasks

• Benchmarking, teardown, troubleshooting, and reporting on safety technologies
• Lead installations and technical support during product trials on vehicles
• Electrical and mechanical modification, prototype construction, and rework
• Participate in engineering meetings and cross-functional project activities
• Deliver technical support and training to customers and internal teams
