Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Product Developer to take ownership of specific Dare2b ranges from development through to bulk production. You’ll ensure all samples and orders meet our quality and fit standards, align with the corporate calendar, and are delivered on time.

Impact you will have in this role

Product Development

  • Collaborate with Xiamen team and Designers to ensure samples meet design specs, measurements, and fit requirements.
  • Create detailed specifications considering quality, cost, and bulk production feasibility.
  • Liaise with factories and designers to trial new technologies and constructions, offering solutions where needed.
  • Maintain standardised fits and patterns, ensuring consistent quality across ranges.
  • Stay informed on new fabrics and trims, understanding application and function.
  • Conduct shop visits to review construction and quality, suggesting improvements.
  • Ensure 100% accurate specifications using Illustrator and PLM systems.
  • Build strong relationships with designers to deliver accurate specs and high‑quality development samples.
Salesmen Samples
  • Prepare PLM trim pages and specifications post‑design sign‑off.
  • Verify fabric details for timely ordering and production.
  • Support the PD team to ensure salesman samples meet design, fit, and quality standards.
Bulk Production
  • Maintain accurate launch documents and handovers to QC teams.
  • Monitor fit issues, liaising with QC to resolve before production.
  • Work with QC to ensure Grade 1‑2 production quality and correct any Grade 3 or below.
  • Keep safety and compliance files up to date (Product and Kids Safety standards).
  • Investigate and resolve quality or fit complaints, ensuring continual improvement.
  • Support testing and fit requirements for new international markets.
Other Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and product safety procedures.
  • Support ethical trading and sustainability initiatives with the Buying Director.
  • Act as Compliance Lead, ensuring up‑to‑date regulatory standards.
  • Continuously review and improve processes, embracing new ideas and ways of working.
  • Carry out additional duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of four years experience.
  • Good knowledge and experience of fitting a wide range of garments/products.
  • Knowledge of grading and garment construction.
  • Experience of working with designers and understanding design needs.
  • Proven track record within product development and/or garment technology environment.
  • Experience of delivering excellent quality merchandise from offshore supplier base.
  • An understanding of testing fabrics and trims, with the ability to interpret the results.
