Product Developer - Off-Price | Full-Time | Leeds
Purpose of the Product Developer role:
As a Junior Product Developer, you will play a vital role within our Product team. You will source and manage a commercial range of products, working with sales to achieve budgets/margins within the agreed wholesale and retail price architecture. You will manage ranges and customer orders under the guidance and training of your manager.
- Plan, design (where applicable), and source a commercial range of products within a structured supplier base for our wholesale markets.
- Present your ranges and projects to senior management and the sales team ahead of customer meetings.
- Manage the product development process and bulk orders to an agreed critical path.
- Work closely with QA and design to ensure the best garment fit and product quality.
- Create seasonal product boards and CAD booklets for launches and projects.
- Negotiate with suppliers and maintain good relationships.
- Understand customer needs to maximize profits and provide a commercially viable range.
- Develop products and stock proposals based on customer briefs to secure new orders.
- Increase sales and profit by staying competitive and innovative.
- Source and develop new suppliers in line with company strategy.
- Liaise with suppliers and chair meetings.
Trade and Planning:
- Manage the critical path to ensure timely delivery.
- Work with merchandisers to fulfill customer orders.
- Analyze performance, predict trends, and monitor competitors.
- Oversee web photography for RRP and sales shoots.
- Support customer projects and initiatives to drive sales.
Knowledge & Skills required:
- Knowledge of garments, fabrics, constructions, and factory capabilities.
- Creative flair with a commercial eye.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks reactively.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Organizational skills to manage the product development process.
- Team player with good relationships skills.
- Numerate, supporting margin calculations and costings.
