Job summary

Omega Resource Group seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a permanent, hybrid role in Leeds. You will deliver technical information, advise customers and internal teams on design and solutions, and contribute to product development while meeting safety and economic design standards.

The role requires a engineering degree and experience with Mathcad, AutoCAD and Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD tools, supporting a dynamic environment in energy and manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or suitable alternative qualification.
• Experience with Mathcad, AutoCAD and Inventor or similar 3D CAD package.

Responsibilities

• Create, analyse and develop Product Design to meet customers’ or the industry’s needs, having an awareness of good economic design and safety, both in manufacture and function.
• Design, produce and analyse mathematical models as well as undertaking mechanical design calculations and draw design conclusions based on those.
• Create and maintain product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results) following company procedures.
• To engage in product development work within the product portfolio.
• Discuss the customer’s requirements and identify products which meet these.
• Give technical advice on the application and proper use of products
• Adhere to the processes stipulated in the Engineering Procedures (EPs) and the Business Process Management system (BPM).

Job Role – Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the Product Lead the Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for delivering technical information and instructions within a planned schedule. Provide advice to customers, other operations and departments across the company business on design, problems and solutions.
