Job description

A fast growing technology company that provides an end-to-end financial planning platform for financial advisers (our clients), including modules for risk profiling, cashflow modelling, investment analytics and Model Portfolio Service with over £11bn in assets under management.

Our technology cuts out unnecessary costs, inefficiencies and anxiety for advisers, while improving the long-term investment returns for their clients.

As a scaling company, the only thing that is guaranteed is unpredictability. Curve balls, adapting and developing are the norm. If you’re looking for a company where everything is mapped out for you, then we may not be the right fit for you.

However, if you’re after a dynamic company where you will make a real difference then read on!

Your responsibilities
  • Lead UX/UI design for new features, from early exploration to polished interfaces.
  • Create experiences that are simple, accessible, beautiful, and empathetic to user journeys.
  • Partner with Product Managers on user flows and usability testing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure high-quality, consistent implementations.
  • Maintain and evolve the UI component library and design system.
  • Champion usability testing, ensuring enough high-quality sessions happen and synthesising insights.
  • Monitor onboarding, usage patterns, and session recordings to spot friction and improve usability.
  • Advocate for clarity, consistency, and user-centred thinking across the product.
What success looks like
  • New features ship with clarity, simplicity, and polish, and resonate with users.
  • The design system remains a trusted, healthy, and evolving resource for designers and engineers.
  • Product Managers feel supported and guided in making user-centered decisions.
  • Usability testing is routine, insightful, and impactful, with learnings clearly documented and acted upon.
  • Usability issues are spotted early and addressed proactively, improving the overall quality and consistency of the product experience.
Who we’re looking for

An experienced Product Designer who loves working in a start up environment, who can make the complex beautifully simple and who understands that good design is as much about understanding the user as creating something aesthetically appealing. Someone who is up for the challenge of making eight different tools for financial advisers flow seamlessly together, who may know nothing about the finance world but is up for the challenge and who is a self-starter.

Absolute must haves
  • 3–5+ years designing digital products end-to-end (UX + UI).
  • Experience in a start up, scale-up or similar fast-growing environment.
  • Experience working with design systems and contributing to component libraries.
  • Hands‑on experience with usability testing and synthesising insights.
  • Familiarity with analytics and session recording tools for understanding user behaviour.
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern product/design workflows.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to explain design decisions clearly.
Nice to haves
  • Experience of creating your own start up or side hustle.
The package
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience and qualifications
  • Participation in company bonus scheme (payment subject to company meeting quarterly targets)
  • 28 days annual leave plus statutory holidays
  • Pension scheme (10% non-contributory after probation)
  • Group life and income protection
  • Potential to join company option scheme
  • Cost of relevant professional qualifications and memberships
  • Hybrid working – we’re a remote‑first company
  • Flexible hours (subject to team requirements)
