Attributes
  • Degree qualified in Product Design, Industrial Design or similar
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering position
  • Hands‑on experience with R&D, testing and prototype development
  • Experience working on full lifecycle design projects
  • A sound understanding of Mechanical Engineering processes and materials
  • Previous work experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial
  • Proficient using 2D and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite etc.
  • Experienced working with a range of materials including metal and plastics
  • Technically minded with a head for problem solving
  • Proven ability to drive Engineering development
  • Able to work to specific requirements and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organised with excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
  • Developing ideas from concept through to production
  • Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
  • Working on full lifecycle product design projects
  • Speaking to End Users and doing market research
  • Liaising with manufacturing providers
  • Being involved in final assembly of products
  • Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
  • Updating 3D models and drawings
  • Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
  • Checking drawings for sign off
  • Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
