Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc, a market leader in marine surveillance technology, seeks a Product Compliance Coordinator to plan, coordinate and track certification activities for our electronic products. You will act as the central contact between engineering teams, laboratories and quality teams, ensuring on-time delivery of compliance documentation.

Based primarily at our Bristol office with hybrid flexibility, the role requires travel to Midsomer Norton until Q2 2027 and to customers and labs as

Qualifications

• Essential engineering or science degree or equivalent experience.
• Qualification in Compliance, Project Management or Quality Systems.
• Experience coordinating testing activities or certification programmes.
• Experience gaining certifications (UKCA, RED, FCC).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate certification and compliance activities from development to release.
• Plan and monitor regulatory testing and certify status with stakeholders.
• Support site and field testing and manage documentation control.

The Product Compliance Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking product compliance and verification testing activities to ensure products meet regulatory, industry, customer, and company requirements.

The role acts as the central point of contact between engineering teams, external test laboratories, certification bodies, quality departments, and project stakeholders. The Product Compliance Coordinator ensures that compliance testing is completed on schedule, documentation is maintained, and certification activities are delivered efficiently.

For marine electronic products, including AIS transceivers, the role involves organising regulatory approvals, type approval testing, environmental qualification, EMC testing, and ongoing compliance maintenance.

The role of Product Compliance Coordinator is primarily based from our Bristol office, but you must be willing to travel to our offices in Midsomer Norton until Qtr2 2027, the role has good flexibility for Hybrid working.

Responsibilities - Product Compliance Coordinator - not exhaustive:

Compliance Coordination

• Coordinate product certification and compliance activities from development through to product release within the project timelines
• Prepare and Maintain compliance schedules and certification plans
• Monitor progress of regulatory testing activities
• Liaise with certification bodies, notified bodies, and test laboratories

Test Planning & Management

• Schedule laboratory testing and product evaluations
• Arrange quotations for testing activities, obtain best pricing, and raise purchase orders
• Coordinate EMC, environmental, RF, safety, and performance testing
• Prepare test samples, supporting equipment, and documentation and track test progress to then communicate status updates to stakeholders
• Maintain records of test results and any/all corrective actions

Site & Field Test Support

• Travel to customers, suppliers, and test sites to support product testing and certification activities, as required by the business
• Coordinate equipment, test documentation, and resources required for site testing activities and assist engineers with the setup, execution, and monitoring of laboratory and field-based tests
• Organise on-site support during EMC, environmental, RF, integration, and acceptance testing as required
• Report back on test results, observations, and non-conformities, ensuring accurate reporting and traceability

Documentation Control

• Maintain compliance and certification records for all SRT products
• Organise and manage:
  • Test reports, Certificates, Declarations of Conformity, Technical files, Compliance matrices, Risk assessments, etc
• Ensure documentation is controlled and stored in accordance with company procedures

Regulatory Support

• Monitor regulatory changes affecting products and target markets
• Prepare certification submissions and maintain certification registers and renewal schedules

Project Coordination

• Attend project review meetings and provide compliance status updates
• Track actions resulting from certification and test activities and elevate risks that could impact project delivery or certification approval

Requirements - Product Compliance Coordinator - not exhaustive:

• Essential - HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Scientific Discipline, or Similar
• Qualification in Compliance, Project Management or Quality Systems
• Knowledge of consumer or marine electronics, or radio communication systems
• Experience coordinating testing activities, or certification programmes
• Experience gaining certifications for consumer electronics including UKCA, RED, and FCC
