As a strategy and advisory consultant in Deloitte Digital’s Commerce offering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital commerce for our global clients. You will be at the forefront of innovation, advising clients through the evolving digital landscape and leveraging cutting‑edge technologies to build resilient, scalable, and customer‑centric commerce platforms.

About the role:
  • You will lead the definition of product vision and strategy within complex commerce engagements, taking ownership of outcomes and translating high‑level business objectives into actionable product roadmaps and transformations that deliver measurable growth and value to be created.
  • You will be adept at sculpting narratives and using storytelling techniques to articulate compelling visions for clients, shaping their strategy and translating it into tangible outcomes.
  • You will lead continuous discovery, shape strategic initiatives and identify opportunities to deliver desirable commerce outcomes in pursuit of significant business value and innovative customer experiences.
  • You will expertly elicit, analyse, and define strategic requirements, epics, and features, ensuring alignment between client product vision, business goals, technical feasibility and wider business functions.
  • You will act as a strategic and advisory partner to senior client stakeholders, cultivating strong relationships and influencing product direction to ensure our solutions directly contribute to our clients’ long‑term business success.
  • You will lead and mentor cross‑functional teams – including designers, architects, developers, test engineers and delivery leads – fostering seamless collaboration and ensuring the successful execution of complex product deliveries, across multiple agile teams.
  • You will leverage advanced data analysis and visualisation techniques to provide informed product insights, validate hypotheses, and continuously optimise customer journeys and business outcomes.
  • You will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping our clients to connect the right dots, able to leverage your experience and broader knowledge networks.
  • You will be a forward‑thinking, up to speed with the latest trends and innovations, able to reference industry and market benchmarks relevant to client ambitions and needs.

To thrive as a strategy & advisory expert in our Commerce foundry, you will need to possess a strong blend of strategic insight, technical acumen, and exceptional consulting capabilities. We are looking for practitioners who can adeptly navigate complex client environments, solve intricate problems, and drive successful outcomes.

Your experience should include:

  • Experience: Significant experience working on agile software development projects, working in a strategy & advisory capacity or adjacent role (e.g. product manager, business analyst).
  • Product Strategy & Leadership: Proven ability to define and advocate for your strategic insights, develop practical roadmaps and lead on continuous discovery for complex digital commerce solutions. Application of product management frameworks and design thinking methodologies is highly valued.
  • Core Commerce & Consumer Industry Expertise: Advanced proficiency in the Consumer industry, the Commerce sector is a must. You must couple this with understanding the latest trends impacting businesses with an understanding of actions available to them to react.
  • Data‑Driven Product Management: Ability to perform advanced data analysis, interpret key metrics, and utilise data visualisation techniques to inform product strategy, validate hypotheses, measure performance and drive continuous product optimisation.
  • AI Fluency: A practical understanding of how Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI is impacting clients and how it can be applied within commerce to enhance capabilities, improve customer experience, and boost team productivity. This includes the ability to identify opportunities for AI‑driven product innovation and integrate AI components into solutions as well as being proficient yourself.
  • Consulting & Senior Client Engagement: Exceptional client relationship management, senior stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills. Ability to act as a trusted strategic advisor, challenge assumptions constructively, pre‑empt and address concerns, and guide clients through complex product decisions. Clear and concise communication is a must.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Strong leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to lead and inspire diverse, multi‑disciplinary teams (design, architecture, development, delivery), mentor junior BAs, and foster a culture of excellence through capability building.
  • Strategic Problem‑Solving: A proactive and analytical approach to solving complex, ambiguous, and strategic problems, with the ability to break down and propose innovative, practical, and strategically aligned solutions.
  • Agile Leadership: Expert understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), including leading ceremonies, coaching teams, and defining agile processes at a program level, coupled with a critical and pragmatic approach to incremental value delivery.
