Job summary

ALPLA UK is seeking a hands-on Procurement Specialist to support day-to-day purchasing for UK manufacturing operations. You will manage a mix of direct and indirect procurement, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services across sites.

Ideal candidates have 2-5 years in procurement, ERP experience (SAP/D365/Oracle), and a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business. CIPS Level 3+ is desirable; plastics/packaging sector experience is a plus.

Qualifications

2-5 years' procurement experience in manufacturing or similar.
Experience managing purchase orders and the Purchase-to-Pay process.
Experience using an ERP system such as SAP, D365, Oracle or similar.
A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or a related subject is desirable; CIPS Level 3+ is a plus.

Responsibilities

Raising and managing purchase orders and ensuring they are processed accurately and on time.
Following up outstanding orders and chasing suppliers when deliveries are delayed; resolving issues.
Working closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, Finance and Operations; building supplier relationships.
Finding opportunities to reduce costs and improve value; supporting sourcing and supplier selection for locally managed categories.
Monitoring supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery and service; maintaining ERP data.
Supporting procurement projects, process improvements and sustainability initiatives.
