Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is recruiting a Procurement Specialist to support UK programmes across nuclear, defence and energy. The role involves leading sourcing, tendering and supplier negotiations, and developing procurement strategies with stakeholders and project teams.

You’ll monitor supplier performance, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Hybrid pattern with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• End-to-end procurement experience across sourcing, tendering, contracts, and supplier management.
• Experience managing supplier performance and delivery within complex projects.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial principles, and contract terms.
• Experience in engineering, nuclear, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, or similar technical industry.
• Ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders and suppliers.

The role

As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting some of the United Kingdom's most exciting clean energy and infrastructure programmes. Working across major projects, you'll partner with stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to deliver innovative procurement solutions that drive value, performance, and operational success.

This is an opportunity to influence critical procurement decisions across complex engineering projects while developing your expertise within the nuclear, defence, and clean energy sectors. Your work will directly contribute to projects that support national infrastructure, energy security, and the transition to a more sustainable future. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Managing sourcing and tendering activities to deliver cost-effective and technically robust supply chain solutions.
• Leading supplier negotiations to maximise commercial value and secure successful project outcomes.
• Developing procurement strategies through early engagement with stakeholders and project teams.
• Monitoring supplier performance, managing supply chain risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Project Management, and commercial teams to ensure successful delivery of materials and services.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Bristol Business Park, Bristol or Warrington. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to Bristol and Hinkley Point C will be expected approximately once per month.

Essential experience of the Procurement Specialist:

• Demonstrable experience in end-to-end procurement, sourcing, tendering, contract award, and supplier management activities.
• Experience managing supplier performance, delivery schedules, and commercial relationships within a complex project environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial principles, and contract terms and conditions.
• Experience within an engineering, nuclear, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, utilities, oil and gas, or similar technical industry.
• Proven ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful commercial outcomes.

Qualifications for the Procurement Specialist:

• Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
