Procurement Specialist
Location: Newick, Lewes
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

A leading organisation in the marine sector is looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team. This role will be central to the supply chain, ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials, components and services to support high-quality manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, negotiate and purchase materials and components for production.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure value and quality.
  • Manage contracts, pricing agreements and terms in line with budgetary and operational requirements.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers to meet business growth needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Keep up to date with market trends and risks to refine procurement strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to align purchasing with technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards and industry regulations.
  • Oversee logistics coordination in partnership with external providers.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven background in procurement, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine or marine components is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in procurement systems and tools.
  • Proactive, detail-focused and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
