A growing technology firm in the Cambridge area is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee supplier relationships and negotiate terms for components related to national security. This full-time role requires a degree or equivalent experience, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with procurement software. Ideal candidates will have a proactive mindset and be eligible for UK security clearance. Knowledge in the defense sector and ERP systems is beneficial.
This role is with a growing company with involvement in technology development for national security. It will see you managing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, seeking approvals, and of course ultimately sourcing, purchasing and tracking components. Group liaison and asset management also form part of the role, along with workflow improvements, budgeting, and compliance.
You will have a degree qualification (or equivalent experience), along with:
Any further experience in the defence sector (or aerospace, robotics, or other hardware-focused contexts) is beneficial, as is knowledge of customs documentation and export controls, restricted materials, electronic/mechanical components, ERP and MRP systems and related software, logistics. A CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification is also an asset.
Due to the nature of their work, applicants must be eligible for UK security clearance. This role is full time at their Cambridge area offices.
