Overview

We are excited to share an excellent opportunity for an experienced Procurement Officer to join the Procurement Team within Legal Services at the Isle of Wight Council. This is a full-time, permanent position offering flexible working arrangements. The Corporate Procurement Team provides expert support across a broad spectrum of procurement activities. The successful candidate will offer strategic advice and guidance to Council Officers and ensure procurement and contract activities remain fully compliant with current legislation, covering the full end-to-end procurement process. The role is part of a friendly and dynamic team of eight and contributes to maximising savings and enhancing outcomes when spending public money in commissioning services, goods, and works within the Adult Social Care and Housing directorate.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic procurement advice and guidance to Council Officers.
  • Ensure compliance with current procurement legislation across end-to-end procurement activities.
  • Contribute to maximising savings and better outcomes in commissioning services, goods and works.
  • Work within the Adult Social Care and Housing directorate and collaborate with client departments and project teams to deliver procurement projects on time.
  • Support the design and implementation of procurement strategies tailored to specific requirements.
  • Draft clear documentation and instructions for clients and suppliers.
