A local authority in the UK is seeking a Procurement Officer to support procurement activities and implement legislation for a fixed term of 2 years. The candidate should have a minimum of 12 months' experience in a purchasing organization and a good understanding of UK public procurement regulations. This role offers flexible working arrangements and a salary range of £35,412 - £38,220, including excellent benefits.

Under the general direction of the Commercial Lead Procurement & Collaboration and relevant Principal Procurement Officer, the post holder will be responsible for: Supporting and advising on procurement procedures with several important and high-profile projects aligned to the Council’s forward work programme.
Implementation of the new procurement legislation across the Council.
Implementing the Council’s standing orders for contracts, procurement strategy, corporate objectives and advocating local & national policies & initiatives.
Supporting the Transformation Programme (Team Caerphilly). For the role, we ask that you have: 5 GCSEs Grade A
A Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or actively studying towards the institute’s examinations.
Good working knowledge of the UK Public Contract Regulations.
Minimum of 12 months experience in a large purchasing organisation.
Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit Council offices which are not on bus routes to attend meetings and support service areas.
