A local government authority in Barnsley is seeking a Procurement Officer to support procurement activities and ensure compliance while promoting best value. The ideal candidate will have public sector experience, strong communication skills, and expertise in end-to-end procurement and contract management. Castlefield Recruitment are partnering with Jenny Lockwood at Barnsley Council to recruit a Procurement Officer. The Procurement Officer will work with the Strategic Procurement Business Partners and Procurement Managers to support the effective and efficient delivery of all procurement, commercial and contracting activities to drive commercial outcomes, best value, and compliance whilst providing excellent customer services to internal stakeholders.
The role falls within the Place category which includes Construction, Highways and Waste Management.
This role would suit someone with a background in public sector procurement and experience in end-to-end tendering and contract management.
