Job description

Job Title: Procurement Manager - Plant and Equipment

Location: Preston; Lancashire. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £66,000 depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:
  • Leading and managing a team of Manufacturing Plant and Equipment buyers
  • Contribute to category and project strategy, implementing plans to successfully deliver major investments in the Air sector
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business – problem solving and encouraging innovation, creating a motivated, proactive and inclusive environment
  • Focussing on delivering a high performing team culture
  • Build on our existing supplier relationships, ensuring reviews are carried out, suppliers are monitored and managed and high performance is delivered
  • Identify and build new supplier relationships that will benefit the business
  • Support and coordinate the team throughout the end to end procurement process, ensuring customer and supplier issues are communicated and resolved effectively
  • Support our external bidding activity on major programmes
  • Contributing to the Indirect Procurement Services strategic direction and delivery of objectives / goals
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • An understanding of business and procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policy and strategy
  • Proven experience working within a procurement role, ideally within an indirect spend category
  • An understanding of how procurement activity is organised and integrates into the business or function, requires commercial awareness and procurement skills
  • Experience of contract and supplier performance management

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified in a business subject area or equivalent procurement / supply chain accreditations (MCIPS, RICS, IAPPM)
  • Experience of managing a team of procurement professionals

The Procurement Team:

This is a team at the forefront of supporting the business’s investments into its existing infrastructure as well as new building developments and product platforms meaning no two days are the same. This role has day to day responsibility for the team and to influence the procurement strategy and supplier management and selection within this area.
