Procurement Manager

Job Overview
- Manage all purchasing, materials planning, and goods‑in activities to support timely and cost‑effective delivery of engineering projects
- Lead strategic and operational procurement for bespoke and standard components
- Use Sage 200 MRP to manage material requirements and supplier performance
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure best value
- Maintain supplier databases, lead times, and part cost records to support procurement planning
Collaboration and Quality
- Collaborate with engineering and estimating teams to provide accurate cost and availability information
- Oversee goods‑in processes, ensuring accurate receipt, inspection, and system entry of parts
- Maintain traceability and compliance with GMP and ISO 9001 standards
- Work closely with assembly teams to coordinate part availability for builds
- Ensure stock accuracy, documentation compliance, and timely processing of deliveries
- Manage inventory levels to meet project demands while avoiding shortages or excess
- Identify and resolve supply issues, stock discrepancies, and invoice queries in collaboration with Finance
Team Leadership
- Lead, support, and develop the procurement and goods‑in team
- Drive improvements in supplier performance, materials handling, and procurement efficiency
- Support system enhancements and ongoing utilisation of Sage 200
Requirements
- Background in procurement or supply chain within an engineering or manufacturing setting
- Hands‑on experience with purchasing, stock control, and goods‑in operations
- Familiarity with Sage 200 and MRP planning (desirable)
- CIPS qualification or working towards (preferred)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Effective communicator with experience working cross‑functionally (engineering, quality, finance, etc.)
Additional Qualifications
- Proactive approach with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable leading small teams and managing day‑to‑day procurement operations
- Experience working within regulated or quality‑controlled environments (e.g., GMP, ISO 9001) is advantageous
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £45,000‑£55,000 depending on experience
Pension: 4% employer / 4% employee contributions

Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working: Wednesdays and Fridays from home
- Flexible hours: Start between 7:30‑9:30 AM, finish between 4:00‑5:30 PM
