You will be taking a proactive role in supporting the Senior Procurement Managers in all areas of work, from tendering and contract negotiation to interacting with all levels of Trust colleagues and supporting them with their projects.
Works directly with the Operational Head of Procurement, Deputy Head of Procurement and Senior Procurement Managers (SPMs) to ensure that a cost effective purchasing/contracts work programme is developed and maintained to achieve the key objectives of the department and Trust. May also be required to provide assistance to SPMs in other work streams, i.e. clinical, as necessary which may feed into divisional cost saving initiatives, improvement to patient care or productivity efficiencies.
To develop strong customer/stakeholder relationships in order to meet customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money, compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by supporting the development of key strategies for supplier and contract management.
The post holder will investigate some complex procurement enquiries, provide advice to stakeholders or suppliers and contribute to corporate reporting as required.
The post forms an integral part of the Finance Team.
