Job summary

Leading Main Contractor in Chorleywood is seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee procurement strategies for high-value construction projects. Based in Chorleywood, you will lead a procurement team, ensure timely and cost-efficient acquisitions of materials, subcontractor services, and plant hire, and advise on procurement strategy to executives.

The role focuses on optimizing procurement processes, supplier relationships, and budgeting in large-scale projects, with potential for progression

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager in construction or related industries.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles and contract management.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Degree in Procurement, SCM, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with project requirements and company objectives.
• Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring effective procurement of materials, subcontractor services, and plant hire.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements to achieve best value and mitigate risks.
• Evaluate supplier performance and establish strong supplier relationships to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to forecast procurement needs and manage budgets.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and practices.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on procurement strategy and market trends.
