Role Responsibility
  • Lead and manage end‑to‑end procurement processes for IT services and systems, ensuring alignment with project strategy and compliance with NEC and SaaS contract frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams – from design and delivery to commercial and planning – to ensure procurement meets project needs.
  • Develop and issue robust tender documentation, conduct supplier negotiations, and deliver value‑for‑money outcomes.
  • Prepare and issue subcontracts, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement across the supply chain.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, helping to build a high‑performing procurement function.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
  • Previous experience as Procurement Manager on a major project, including managing direct staff
  • Experience of working on infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge and application of NEC contract / IT SAAS Contracts
  • Demonstrable negotiating skills and securing best value outcomes
Desirable
  • Working knowledge with Electronic Procurement Systems
  • Excellent communicator and influencer with ability to build effective relationships
  • Experience of working on major civil engineering or rail projects
  • Desirable to be working towards MCIPS
  • Practical approach, logical thought process and a methodical way of working
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems including document control.
  • Proficient in technical minute taking at contractual meetings and able to demonstrate the ability to collate information, prepare reports, clearly record contractual commitments, write persuasive recommendations and clearly communicate.
  • Proficient in drafting effective contractual correspondence
  • Proven negotiating and team‑working skills

About the Company

The role will work on the HS2 project. HS2 is the UK's new high speed rail network. It will be a catalyst for economic growth across Britain, freeing up space on the existing railways and connecting 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable and frequent high speed services. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. Scope of works includes twin‑bored tunnels (TBM), SCL tunnels, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, services diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.
