Elvet Recruitment Limited is partnering with a specialist civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager. You will take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships and cost optimisation across busy live sites in the Northeast of England and Yorkshire.

Lead a small team of buyers and plant coordinator, drive value through competitive sourcing, manage contracts and reporting to senior management, and collaborate with all departments to improve procurement

• Proven procurement experience within civil engineering or construction.
• Experience of managing a Procurement department including direct staff.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• A track record of delivering cost savings.
• Excellent organisational and relationship management skills.
• A proactive approach to improving procurement performance.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a procurement team of 3 Buyers and 1 Plant Administrator across civil engineering sites in the Northeast of England and Yorkshire.
• Manage the procurement team to ensure best value and compliance with procedures.
• Supply chain management and contract negotiations with reporting to senior management.
• Produce financial and performance reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with all departments at all levels to align procurement with business needs.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies and negotiate supplier agreements.

Elvet Recruitment are working with a specialist civil engineering contractor delivering essential infrastructure projects across the region to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional to take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships and cost optimisation within a busy, project-driven construction environment.

The role will involve:

• Responsibity for a team of 3 Buyers & 1 Plant Administrator covering all material purchases and plant hire on current live civil engineering sites across the Northeast of England and Yorkshire.
• Managing the procurement team to ensure best value is obtained and procedures are followed.
• Supply Chain Management and negotiating contracts, reporting to senior management.
• Financial and performance report production.
• Communicating & working closely with all departments within the organisation at all levels.
• Managing & prioritizing workload.
• Mentoring and managing subordinates.
• Developing and implementing procurement strategies
• Negotiating supplier agreements and securing competitive pricing
• Managing supplier relationships and supply chain performance
• Identifying cost savings and improving commercial efficiency
• Supporting project teams with procurement planning and delivery
• Strengthening procurement processes, controls and reporting

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven procurement experience within civil engineering or construction
• Experience of managaing a Procurement department including direct staff

Remuneration

On offer is a salary of up to £75,000 (dependant on experience) plus attractive benefits package
