Salary Information: The salary range for this position is £68,000-£75,750 per year. The base salary offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Restricted stock units will be provided as part of the compensation package.

Senior Manager, UK & Europe Carrier Procurement. Take a leading role in shaping the future of our transportation network across the region. In this highly strategic position, you'll manage end-to-end carrier relationships—from first mile supplier collections to last mile delivery—for both small and large parcels within the UK and Ireland.

As part of our dynamic Global Transportation & Delivery team, you'll drive contract negotiations, lead RFPs, and ensure high-performing, cost-effective carrier partnerships. Your key focus will be leading procurement and commercial strategy across all transportation modes within the UK—covering first mile supplier collections, middle mile truckload, and last mile small and large parcel delivery. You'll also support cross-border carrier relationships and flows from Europe and Poland into the UK and Ireland, ensuring international operations are efficient and well-integrated into the broader network.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute regional carrier sourcing strategies aligned with Wayfair's growth and service goals.
  • Identify and qualify new carrier partners across first, middle, and last mile segments.
  • Lead carrier RFPs, rate negotiations, and contract renewals across the UK and Europe.
  • Own end-to-end commercial relationships with transportation providers.
  • Ensure competitive pricing while improving service levels and operational flexibility.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve billing discrepancies, contract disputes, and claims issues.
  • Manage carrier invoicing processes, dispute resolution, and payment integrity.
  • Monitor and benchmark carrier performance metrics (cost, speed, quality, reliability).
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement and cost savings.
  • Partner with Logistics Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams to drive carrier initiatives.
  • Support new transportation programs and service expansion projects across the region.
What You'll Need
  • Demonstrable experience in transportation procurement, carrier management, or logistics operations, ideally within the e-commerce, retail or home market. Any high-volume/ large parcel shipping understanding would be advantageous.
  • A proven track record of managing cross-border shipping operations, including transit time reduction, maximising truckloads, parcel & large parcel carriers, and optimising costs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UK and European transportation networks, regulatory environments, and carrier markets.
  • Clear understanding of contract law and logistics compliance requirements across the UK and EU.
  • Capability to work autonomously, apply strategic thinking, and lead projects from initial concept through to successful implementation.
  • Expertise in negotiating complex transportation contracts, leading RFP processes and utilising e-sourcing or procurement tools (e.g., Jaggaer, Coupa, Ariba).
  • Exceptional analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to assess transportation costs and carrier performance.
  • Effective relationship management skills, someone who collaborates effectively with both external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Capability to leverage Excel and Google Sheets for complex tasks involving formulas, pivot tables, and large datasets. Familiarity with tools such as GBQ, SQL or Looker is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in navigating IT systems, tools and platforms simultaneously (e.g., Google Suite/ Microsoft Office).
Travel Requirements

Although this role is predominantly office based, a flexibility to:

  • Travel to UK & Ireland Wayfair Depots, Fulfilment Centres, Supplier pickup sites and Carrier sites (approximately 10-15%),
  • Wider EU & Boston travel (approximately 2-3 trips per year).
