Job description

Reporting into the Head of Procurement, this role will help implement the procurement strategies derived to ensure cost-effective sourcing, timely acquisition of goods and services, and supplier relationship management. The Procurement Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, while also maintaining relationships with external suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and contracts.

  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities through supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing initiatives
  • Create and implement category strategies
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, pricing and contracts to maximise value and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including ethical sourcing practices and diversity initiatives
  • Work under the Head of Procurement to reduce costs without compromising on quality or performance
  • Negotiate better pricing with suppliers, consolidate purchases to leverage volume discounts, and/or identify alternative sources of supply
  • Conduct market analysis to stay updated on industry trends, risks and pricing
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, ethical sourcing, regulation and professional standards
  • A relevant professional qualification and chartered body membership i.e. CSCP, CIPS or equivalent
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience of category management, creating and implementing category plans and strategies
  • Experience within indirect categories such as Facilities Management (FM), IT, Professional Services, Marketing and HR
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, contract management, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent presentation skills being able to present to a varied audience in an appropriate manner
  • Proven ability to take ownership of workloads and work both independently and as a team
  • Adopts a logical and structured approach to work and demonstrates attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Full driving licence
