Overview

We are currently looking for a commercial and progressive Procurement Manager with experience of building new teams and supplier bases to spearhead, modernise and invigorate the purchasing function of an established growing business. This is a brand new role following some progressive organisational change!

Role & Scope

JOB DESCRIPTION: Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Buying Manager, Category Manager - manufacturer, fasteners, automotive

The primary focus of this Procurement Manager role is to assist with the Purchase to Purchase relationship with major UK Blue chip clients and to implement and manage a new procurement strategy to explore new commodities and industries for the UK business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee 4 existing purchasing staff across this global business. We want this team to grow exponentially in the coming 3-5 years
• Manage all direct and indirect procurement for the business
• Oversee a total UK spend of £150 million +
• Review and implement new SLAs for the business and its suppliers and KPI's for the staff
• Assess how to get best value out of the current procurement relationships (Apply online only)) and where needed, increase/rationalise supplier portfolio

This is a genuine opportunity to have input into changing a procurement platform in a large and established business and will require a candidate who is strong willed and confident in their approach with experience in similar change and growth.

• Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Buying Manager, Category Manager - manufacturer, fasteners, automotive
• Ideally, you will be a qualified procurement specialist holding either CIPs / MCIPs or the equivalent and have some direct working experience in the automotive industry.
• You could be looking for the next step in your procurement career and would be excited by the prospect of joining a business that is looking to significantly improve its turnover and profitability in the next 5 years.
• You will be strong willed and driven, have a hands-on approach and be prepared to listen and be circumspect, but also be happy to make hard decisions and shoulder the consequences.
