Job description

This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to shape purchasing strategy across a diverse and growing group, reporting directly to the Director of Procurement & Cost

This role will require some travel around the UK, in line with business needs. The ideal candidate is preferably based in the Midlands with the ability to travel.

About The Role

You’ll lead the end-to-end procurement process across our portfolio, developing and executing strategies that optimise spend, safeguard quality, mitigate risk and deliver long-term value for our business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing market trends, supplier performance and cost drivers to identify opportunities for savings and improved efficiency.
  • Negotiating and managing supplier contracts, ensuring commercial value, quality and compliance.
  • Driving cost control through strategic sourcing, cost-benefit analysis and ROI while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assessing and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, compliance, and sustainability.
  • Overseeing facilities management contracts, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting the management of Capex expenditure, ensuring alignment with group priorities.
  • Partnering with operational and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Staying ahead of industry trends and emerging suppliers to adapt strategies that enhance competitiveness.

Other businesses may refer to this role as Procurement Specialist or Senior Buyer.

About You

You’re an analytical and proactive procurement professional with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for driving value.

We’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally within the hospitality sector.
  • Strategic and project management skills – able to plan, organise, and deliver initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Commercial acumen – confident analysing data and market trends to inform data-driven decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management experience, with a track record of achieving savings and enhancing performance.
  • Risk awareness – skilled in identifying and mitigating supply chain and compliance risks.
  • Collaborative leadership – able to build relationships across departments to align procurement with wider business goals.
  • Previous experience with Procure Wizard will be beneficial.
