Job summary

GTS Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Procurement Manager to own strategic procurement across major UK energy and infrastructure projects.

You will manage end-to-end sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier performance, partnering with engineering and commercial teams to deliver value, risk management and sustainable procurement across transmission and distribution initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading procurement across engineering/infrastructure programmes.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and category strategies for key engineering commodities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing from RFQs to contract award.
• Build and manage supplier relationships and stakeholder alignment.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and cost-saving initiatives.
• Support project teams with tendering, planning and commercial proposals.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity.

Job description

GTS is recruiting for an experienced Project Procurement Manager to join a leading engineering organisation supporting major UK energy and infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of strategic procurement, manage key supplier relationships and drive commercial value across transmission, distribution and engineering projects.

The Role

• Develop and deliver procurement and category strategies across key engineering commodities.
• Manage the full sourcing process, from RFQs through to contract negotiation and award.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead supplier performance reviews, commercial negotiations and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Support project teams with tendering, procurement planning and commercial proposals.
• Identify and manage supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply.
• Drive procurement improvements, sustainability initiatives and digitalisation.
• Work closely with engineering, commercial and project teams to support successful delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in strategic procurement, category management or project procurement.
• Proven experience managing high-value contracts, suppliers and commercial negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and supplier relationship skills.
• Experience working within engineering, energy, utilities, manufacturing or infrastructure would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management and supply chain risk.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• CIPS qualification or experience with SAP, Power BI or procurement systems would be beneficial.
