Job summary

ABB UK is seeking a procurement professional to lead direct materials and services spend, aligning with group and division goals. You will set targets, drive supplier performance improvements, and manage risk across the supply base to ensure continuity and profitability.

The role emphasizes sustainability, compliance, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Product Management, with an onsite work model and a strong focus on cost reduction and delivery reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or related discipline.
• Significant experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain management.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of cost reduction, supplier performance and inventory improvement.
• Ability to analyse data and translate insights into procurement strategies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and lead the local implementation of spend management and sourcing strategies for direct materials and services.
• Determine annual targets and scorecards covering cost reduction, supplier quality, sustainability and delivery performance.
• Lead supplier negotiations, supplier partnerships and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive cross-functional category and supplier initiatives with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Product Management.
• Ensure execution of supplier audits and implementation of improvement actions.
• Support the EML turnaround through improvements in supplier performance, delivery reliability and profitability.
• Lead risk management activities across the supply base, proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply and operational resilience.
• Drive sustainability and compliance initiatives within the supplier network, ensuring alignment with ABB standards, environmental objectives, and ethical sourcing requirements.
