A leading healthcare provider in Manchester is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their NUPAS team. The role involves sourcing pharmaceutical and medical supplies, developing inventory management systems, and liaising with clinical leads to ensure timely delivery of essential goods. The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement experience in a healthcare setting, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Manager to join the NUPAS team on a full-time permanent basis.
The role is office based at our premises in Manchester City Centre, however, there will also be an expectation to travel Nationally as required.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated senior procurementpersonnel, who has extensive experience in effective stock controls and purchasingfunction, possess strong management and communication skills, as well asexcellent analytical, technical and IT skills. You will have the ability tooperate at a strategic level, work under pressure and to manage conflicting situations.

To sourcepharmaceutical and medical consumables in line with budgetary constraints onbehalf of the Organisation. This willinclude supplier sourcing, relationship building, negotiation and processing offormal quotations.
To have anawareness of supplier lead times and address any delays proactively.
To plan andforecast demand together with regional managers to prevent overstocking andrunning out-of-stock (OOS), monitor market demand and supply trend closely forany price and availability shift.
To developrobust process based on Corporate Governance and Scheme of Delegation to ensureaccurate records with proper audit trails on purchasing system.
To liaise with RegionalClinical Leads to ensure timely delivery of goods which crucial to operationsand delegate Inventory tasks as required.
To ensure thatclinics have the knowledge to manage and account for stock transfers between clinics.
To develop aneffective and user-friendly inventory management system together with regionalclinical leads to ensure that clinical stock and consumables are properly loggedand accounted for at all times within the organisation.
To develop processand framework to ensure that all clinics can compile and maintain an accuraterecord of quantity, type, and value of supplies stocked by regional clinicians.
To lead monthlystock counting and reporting (including central warehouse) and to ensure all stockcount records have been inputted to stock control system accurately.
The post holder will have a duty to ensure that the principles of patient, carer and public involvement and engagement are adhered to in line with Section 11 of The Health and Social Care Act 2012 for Improving Patient Experience.

To reconcile monthlyusage with activity performance to check and challenge any potentialmiscounting.
To developprocess to ensure that all clinics can troubleshoot stock discrepancies,including root cause analysis.
To developprocess to ensure that all clinics can identify slow moving and potentialredundant stock.
To developprocess to ensure all clinics can prepare lists of depleted items and recommendregular surveys for defective or unusable items.
To establishstock holding KPIs which will drive storage cost reductions, identifyprincipal areas of waste generation and implement solutions to minimise orremove.
To producemonthly reports for finance on a timely manner, e.g. GRNI, transfer and closingstock, etc.
To produce procurementreports for monitoring purposes, e.g. stock lists, price lists, and shortages,etc.
To worktogether with senior clinical leads and quality leads for medical equipmentpurchase and maintenance management.
To lead storemanagement for central warehouse and to maintain high standard of tidiness andcleanliness at all times.
To line manage teammembers and to ensure consistent high performance in daily operation.
To have purchasingand stock control systems ownership and to ensure high standard of data qualityand information accuracy, e.g. supplier information, invoices and pricing.
To highlight any Health and Safety storagepractice improvements to Regional Managers and Quality Team.
To undertakeany other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the level andresponsibilities of the post and/or that are deemed to be within yourcapabilities.
To work inharmony with all other team members including team members in differentregional groups and to communicate in an open and courteous manner withcolleagues, clients, visitors, referring agencies and contractors.
