Job summary

Lord Search & Selection is supporting a Leeds-based client in appointing an experienced Procurement Manager for an electrical and industrial products business. You will lead procurement strategy, supplier relationships and inventory planning to support growth and operational excellence.

You will influence the Senior Leadership Team, drive cost savings and oversee a small team using ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools to optimise performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Procurement Manager or similar in industrial/engineering environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with inventory planning, forecasting and stock optimization.
• Track record of procurement improvements and cost savings.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking to speak with an ambitious procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands‑on approach.

You will ideally possess:

• Proven experience as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer or Procurement Lead within an electrical, engineering, manufacturing, automation or industrial environment.


• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.


• Experience of inventory management, forecasting and stock optimisation.


• A track record of delivering procurement improvements, cost savings and process enhancements.


• Strong leadership skills with experience managing, coaching and developing teams.


• Confidence using ERP/MRP systems and procurement reporting tools.


• The ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
