Job summary

CMC Markets is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for a 6-9 month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) to support end-to-end procurement. You will partner with Business Heads, Finance, and IT, and lead the implementation of a new operating model and procurement strategy.

The role is onsite in London (near Liverpool Street) with 5 days on site per week, driving operational excellence and shaping procurement best practice across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven procurement experience in Finance and/or IT.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and cost-tracking skills.
• Experience managing vendors and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement operations team to ensure timely delivery and customer service.
• Implement the new target operating model and procurement strategy.
• Oversee day-to-day procurement activities and contract renewals.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and budget holders.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with procurement policy.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join us on a 6-9 month fixed-term contract (Maternity cover), supporting the end-to-end procurement cycle. This role will partner closely with Business Heads, Finance, and IT, while also leading the implementation of a new target operating model and procurement strategy.

*** Please note that this is an onsite role that will require you to work within our London office (near Liverpool street) 5 days on site per week. ***

Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement operations team in terms of prioritisation, development, query resolution and
• measuring performance to ensure a high standard of delivery and customer service.
• Implementation of a new target operating model/procurement strategy.
• Oversee any day-to-day order lead time resolution activities with the team and internal stakeholders.
• Lead, co-ordinate and take responsibility for all day-to-day operational procurement activities.
• Resolve any day-to-day end user and supplier operational queries including invoice and payment issues in
• conjunction with Finance and budget holders.
• Actively seek, recommend and report on cost saving and where necessary challenge operational requirements
• and supplier spend.
• Actively monitor adherence to the Procurement Policy.
• Provide training and support to both the team and end users in the use of related procedures and processes.
• Manage new and existing hardware and software support contracts;
• Review quotes and contract terms and conditions;
• Work with technical team leads to ensure all pending contract renewals are completed in a timely fashion;
• Keep all contract documentation up to date;
• Assist in completion of RFP for new requirements as appropriate;
• Management of relationships with external suppliers;
• Budget Management and Analysis;

• Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training;

• Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in a procurement role within Finance and/or IT.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Experience managing vendors and supplier relationships.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience managing and negotiating contracts.
• Exposure to technology suppliers and software/hardware procurement.
• Experience benchmarking costs and contracts.
• Financial services sector experience.
